Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange rises further to 528 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities rose further on Tuesday mainly boosted by a rise in capesize rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities rose further on Tuesday mainly boosted by a rise in capesize rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by another 12 points to 528 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
