Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops further to below 600 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further to below 600 points on Wednesday due to a sharp decline in capesize, panamax and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further to below 600 points on Wednesday due to a sharp decline in capesize, panamax and supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 23 points to 599 points on Wednesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
