BHP Billiton’s copper output from ore decreased to 377,000 tonnes in the third quarter of 2015, down 3% YoY and 13% QoQ.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 23 (SMM) - BHP Billiton’s copper output from ore decreased to 377,000 tonnes in the third quarter of 2015, down 3% YoY and 13% QoQ, according to the company’s Q3 output report.

The output decline is mainly due to output slide at Escondida - the company’s largest mine– from lower ore grade.

BHP Billiton left its output target unchanged at 1.50 million tonnes for 2016 fiscal year.
