SHANGHAI, Oct. 23 (SMM) – Inbound shipments of Philippine nickel ore to the Port of Yangjiang in Guangdong province totaled 910,000 tonnes in September, a new record high, southcn.com reported.

Imports of nickel ore to the port are expected to remain high in October, and then fall gradually with the start of the monsoon season in major producing regions of the Philippines, southcn.com cited local importers as saying.

The Port of Yangjiang is the largest import port of nickel ore in Guangdong province, and nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports in the week ending Oct. 16 were down 1.03 million tonnes from the level on Sept. 25, according to SMM data.
