China’s alumina output grew on year-on-year and month-on-month basis in August, SMM data showed.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 21 (SMM) – China’s alumina output grew on year-on-year and month-on-month basis in August, SMM data showed.

New aluminum capacity boosted demand for alumina, offering incentive to produce.

Production hit 4.84 million tonnes in August, up from July’s 4.83 million tonnes and up 12% from a year ago.
