Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continue to drop to 1014 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to drop to 1014 points on Thursday mainly due to weak panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to drop to 1014 points on Thursday mainly due to weak panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 17 points to 1014 points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
