SHFE 1601 nickel started Thursday evening session at RMB 81,550/mt and then fell back. But later the contract railed slightly.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 21 (SMM) – SHFE 1601 nickel started Thursday evening session at RMB 81,550/mt and then fell back. But later the contract railed slightly and ended at RMB 81,080/mt.

SHFE 1601 nickel dropped after opening at RMB 81,550/mt on Friday and then moved lower to RMB 80,300/mt responding to the growth in shorts and falling LME nickel. The contract closed the day at RMB 80,370/mt, off 0.35%. Trading volumes were down 67,882 to 312,000 lots but positions grew 10,540 to 187,000.
