US H1 scrap average prices declined 5% over the week

The US H1 scrap price average prices were at $242.17 per long ton, as on 13th July, 2015. The prices dropped by $11.66 per long ton when compared with the previous week.

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The US H1 scrap price average prices were at $242.17 per long ton, as on 13th July, 2015. The prices dropped by $11.66 per long ton when compared with the previous week. The average scrap prices have dropped for the first time after remaining flat for three weeks in a row.

The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $242.17 per long ton, declining marginally from the previous week. The scrap prices had averaged at $253.83 per long ton during the week prior to this. 

The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $234.50 per long ton.  The average price dropped by $15 per long ton when compared with the previous week’s price. In Chicago the prices averaged at $248.50 per long ton. The prices here too declined by $10 per long ton when matched with the previous week. The average price in Philadelphia was $243.50 per long ton. The prices here witnessed drop of $10 per long ton when compared with the week before.

Meantime, the weekly crude steel output rebounded sharply by 3.3% during the week from July 4th to July 11th. The output increased by 92,000 short tons to 1.740 million short tons during the week.

[SMM Aluminum Express News] Metro Mining (ASX:MMI) resumed operations at Bauxite Hills in mid-March after Tropical Cyclone Narelle caused minimal disruption, with only seven days of lost production and no infrastructure damage. The Port of Skardon reopened on 25 March, with barging gradually returning to full capacity by mid-April. Despite the disruption, 100,000 WMT was shipped in March. Transhipping continues via TSA Skardon Floating Crane and ultramax vessels, while the Ikamba Offshore Floating Terminal is en route back from maintenance in Batam and expected to arrive end-April. Full-year 2026 shipments are forecast at 6.6–7.1 million WMT.

Specifically, the total registered volume in Shanghai was 1,912 mt (down 30 mt), Guangdong 12,358 mt (down 121 mt), Jiangsu 3,602 mt (down 30 mt), Zhejiang 8,471 mt (down 272 mt), Chongqing 3,634 mt (unchanged), and Sichuan 1,206 mt (unchanged).
