Finished steel consumption in the seven main countries in Latin America.

SANTIAGO (Scrap Register): Finished steel consumption in the seven main countries in Latin America, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela totalled 23.7 million tons in the first four months of 2015, rose by 4% from the same period last year, according to the Latin American Steel Association (Alacero).

In the given period, Peru's steel demand saw an increase of 177,000 tons or 19%. Besides, Mexico and Chile increased their demand by 947,000 tons and 93,000 tons on the yearly basis respectively.

However, Brazil cut its consumption by 4% compared to the same period of last year.
