SHFE Zinc Prices Closed with Losses (Jun. 19, 2015)

SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,895/mt Thursday evening.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 19 (SMM) – SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,895/mt Thursday evening, then dropped below RMB 15,800/mt, dipping to a three-month low of RMB 15740/mt and closed at RMB 15,760/mt, down RMB 125/mt or 0.79%. Trading volumes increased 5,578 to 56,042 lots, and total positions grew 1,212 to 118,152.

SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices fell after opening on Friday, but stabilized after dipping to RMB 15,670/mt, and closing at RMB 15,695/mt, down RMB 190/mt or 1.2%. Trading volumes increased 27,590 to 112,000 lots, and total positions declined 5,942 to 111,000. Trading volumes of SHFE 1509 zinc contracts increased over 10,000 lots, and total positions grew 3,034 to 89,066. SHFE 1508 zinc contract prices will point toward RMB 15,500/mt.
