SHANGHAI, Jun. 9 (SMM) – The number of qualifed China’s lead-acid battery producers fell 98% in five years, ddc.net.cn reported.
Domestic lead battery producers with production licences dropped to 200 in 2014 from 2011’s near 2,000.
The higher national entry standards, including environment protection requiremeents, and the M&As in the sector are main reasons behind the decline, the report said.
There were also some irregular producers in less developed regions, though.
