SHANGHAI, May 27 (SMM) –China’s decision to forbid approval of new aluminum capacity in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and three surrounding areas will have little impact on domestic supply, Shanghai Metals Market understands.

New aluminum capacities concentrate in northwest and southwest China, SMM statistics found, so the ban is unlikely to significantly cut market supply, letting alone boosting prices.
