SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) – China’s spot nickel prices will follow LME nickel down to 94,500-98,000 yuan per tonne in the upcoming week, SMM’s analyst Liao Rongrong expects.
The strong dollar will remain a drag on LME nickel. That, combined with unimproved demand downstream, will weigh down spot prices in China.
“That said, the price fall may be slight considering limited shipments from Jinchuan Group and declining arrivals of imported nickel,” Liao says.
