9th April, 2015: Chinese Aluminum Scrap prices fall; Brass scrap unchanged

The Chinese Aluminum scrap prices declined marginally on the Scrap Monster Price Index on April 9th, Thursday.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster) : The Chinese Aluminum scrap prices declined marginally on the Scrap Monster Price Index on April 9th, Thursday.
 
6063 Extrusions witnessed a price decline of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day. Aluminum Ingots and Transformers prices declined by CNY 150 per MT and CNY 100 per MT respectively. E.C Aluminum Wire prices dropped by CN 150 per MT to touch CNY 13,150 per MT. Old Cast prices too witnessed a down move of CNY 100 per MT. The prices of Aluminum Radiators saw a down move of CNY 100 per MT. Old Sheet prices remained flat. UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices declined by CNY 50 per MT each from the previous day levels.
Meanwhile, Brass Radiator prices remained unchanged at CNY 32,350 per MT over the previous day. Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too remained flat over the previous day.
 
Also, Stainless steel scrap prices remained flat.
 
201 SS prices remained unchanged at CNY 3,950 per MT.
 
The prices of 304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning too held steady.
 
309 SS, 310 SS, 316 SS Solid and Shred SS prices too witnessed no change on April 9th.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu. At the beginning of the week, futures hit limit-down, and nickel prices fell sharply WoW, driving the emergence of arbitrage supplies sold at low prices, leading to a significant decline in high-grade NPI prices.
