Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continues to decline to 583 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline on Tuesday due to the extended weaker demand for bigger vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline on Tuesday due to the extended weaker demand for bigger vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 5 points to 583 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
