China Minmetals Rare Earth Lost 55.8 Mln yuan in 2014 on Sluggish Rare Earth Demand

China Minmetals Rare Earth Co. reported a loss of 55.8 million yuan in the 2014 fiscal year due to weak rare earth prices.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 3 (SMM) – China Minmetals Rare Earth Co. reported a loss of 55.8 million yuan in the 2014 fiscal year due to weak rare earth prices.

“China’s economic slowdown and a lack of detailed measures favoring rare earth market left rare earth consumption poor, dragging down rare earth prices,” the company said in the annual report.

The company earned 255.4 million yuan in 2013.
