Aluminum processors in China may close for as many as 11 days for this year’s Chinese New Year holiday that began on February 19, according to SMM statistics.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 10 (SMM) – Aluminum processors in China may close for as many as 11 days for this year’s Chinese New Year holiday that began on February 19, according to SMM statistics.

Poorer orders will force processors to close an average 3 days longer than last year’s, SMM understood.

Extruders almost always shut down completely during the holiday as their short production cycles allow for flexible production. Many FRP producers, however, usually alternate between production and maintenance due to their longer production cycles.
