NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices declined slightly by $1 a short ton to $677 per short ton in the week ending December 20th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index (TSI).
According to TSI, order activity slowed in the US Midwest market this week, with most of the transactions that did occur flat from last traded values.
US Steel moved to increase sheet prices by US$20/short ton with immediate effect though this was yet to filter through into the latest set of transactions.
TSI's daily HRC Midwest index hovered between US$675 -680/s. ton, averaging -US$3/s. ton lower than last week.
