Indian Coking Coal imports up in August; China's down to 3.84MT

Indian coking coal imports advanced during the month of August while Chinese imports down to 3.84 million tons.

MUMBAI (Scrap Register): Indian coking coal imports advanced during the month of August while Chinese imports down to 3.84 million tons.
 
According to TSI, India imported a total of 2.6 million tons of coking coal in August compared to 2.43 million tons in the same month last year (+6.87% y-o-y). The bulk of cargoes were handled at Visakhapatnam port and Paradip port at 427,000 tons and 1 million tons respectively.
 
China imported a total of 3.84 million tons of coking coal in August, down from 5.05 million tons of coking coal in July (- 24.16%), according to data from China’s General Administration of Customs. 
 
Australian exports to China fell 22.68% m-o-m in August, Canadian exports lost 46.28%% m-o-m while Mongolian exports were higher by 6.33% m-o-m.
