SHFE Aluminum Price Falls, But Rebounds Afterwards (Oct. 14, 2014)

On Monday night, SHFE 1412 aluminum contract nudged up to RMB 13,870/mt after starting at RMB 13,820/mt, but then fell back to finish the night session at RMB 13,830/mt.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 (SMM) – On Monday night, SHFE 1412 aluminum contract nudged up to RMB 13,870/mt after starting at RMB 13,820/mt, but then fell back to finish the night session at RMB 13,830/mt. Trading volumes totaled 32,636 lots, with positions up 2,612 lots to 132,072 lots.

On Tuesday, the most active contract fell all the way down to RMB 13,740/mt as pessimism dominated, but rebounded at the tail of the session as short sellers exited. December aluminum on the SHFE closed at RMB 13,805/mt. Trading volumes totaled 53,966 lots, with positions up 1,680 lots to 133,752 lots.
