ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) down by $2 a ton week-on-week to $383 a ton in the week ended September 05, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index.

According to TSI, a cargo secured early in the week indicated pricing was heading south, and further cargoes booked from European and Baltic suppliers throughout the week served to confirm this.

Against a backdrop of falling iron ore prices and rumors of Chinese billet making its way into the Turkish market this was hardly surprising, although scrap imports into Turkey appear stable at $383 a ton going into next week.
