Northern Europe HRC Steel prices drop to €415 per ton

Northern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices dropped by €2 per ton week-on-week to €415 per ton in the week ended August 01st this year, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.

UNITED KINGDOM August 08 2014 2:15 PM LONDON (Scrap Register): Northern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices dropped by €2 per ton week-on-week to €415 per ton in the week ended August 01st this year, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.

According to TSI, North European benchmark HRC index continues to remain rangebound, as material traded mostly within the €410-420 a ton range.

Activity in the South European market declined significantly this week, with buyers only booking material to cover their immediate post-holiday needs.

Ilva was reportedly offering HR coil at €400-405 a ton, while other steel producers’ offers were approximately €10 a ton higher.
