Spot aluminum largely traded between RMB 13,970-13,980/mt in Shanghai on Thursday, a discount of RMB 60-70/mt over SHFE 1408 aluminum contract.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 23 (SMM) - Spot aluminum largely traded between RMB 13,970-13,980/mt in Shanghai on Thursday, a discount of RMB 60-70/mt over SHFE 1408 aluminum contract. Mainstream traded prices were RMB 13,980-13,990/mt in Wuxi and Hangzhou. The retreat in SHFE aluminum left most cargo holders anxious to sell, weighing prices down. However, demand picked up slightly after SHFE aluminum staged a mild rally near lunchtime, helping spot aluminum prices rise slightly as well.
