Anglo American Platinum anticipates lower first half outturn after platinum strike

After the five month strike, it expected lower earnings for the first half of the year, has crippled the operations, said Anglo American Platinum of South Africa on Monday.

JOHANNESBURG (Scrap Monster): After the five month strike, it expected lower earnings for the first half of the year, has crippled the operations, said Anglo American Platinum of South Africa on Monday.

Company said that it anticipated headline earnings per share for the six months to end-June to drop to between 20 cents and 80 cents, from earnings of about 514 cents last year.

Headline earnings are the main profit gauge in South Africa and exclude certain one-off and non trading items.

The company will release its interim results on July 21.
