SHANGHAI, Jun. 25 (SMM) – Wei Jianghong, Chairman of China’s Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co. died after falling off a building June 24, the company said in a statement filed to Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Speculations abounded about the cause of the suicide, but the case was still under investigation.

Tongling Nonferrous, China’s first copper enterprise going public with copper capacity claiming one seventh of China's total, has experienced declines in net profits during the past three years, with 2013’s profit down 38.03% year-on-year.

Although operations at the company are unaffected at present, whether a number of strategies and projects launched by Wei Jianghong will be pushed ahead remains uncertain.
