Taiwanese HMS 1/2 80:20 containerized scrap import prices (CFR Taiwan Port) rose further by $4 a ton week-on-week to $360 a ton in the week ended June 20th this year.

TAIWAN June 24 2014 2:35 PM TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Taiwanese HMS 1/2 80:20 containerized scrap import prices (CFR Taiwan Port) rose further by $4 a ton week-on-week to $360 a ton in the week ended June 20th this year, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.

The price of containerised HMS 1&2 80:20 scrap sold into Taiwanese ports last week was on the rise once again, for the fourth straight week.

Buyers found vendors in somewhat bullish mood, with the US market now seeing some anticipation of a rise in July (off tighter-thanexpected supply). Either way, although they did not pay the full asking prices,

The index indicates buyers had to concede another $4 a ton on average over last week, although margins may be maintained as mills seem more able to pass costs onto customers than in the recent past.
