China MLR Raises 2014 Mining Quota for Rare Earth Oxide to 105,000 Tonnes

China’s Ministry of Land & Resources announced June 19 that the mining quota for rare earth oxide is 105,000 tonnes this year, up 11,200 tonnes from 2013.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 20 (SMM) – China’s Ministry of Land & Resources announced on its website June 19 that the mining quota for rare earth oxide is 105,000 tonnes this year, up 11,200 tonnes from 2013.

The mining quota for ion-absorbed rare earth (mainly medium and heavy rare earths) is 17,900 tonnes, and the quota for rock-type rare earth (light rare earths) is 87,100 tonnes.

The ministry said it will no longer set mining quota for antimony.
