Chinalco Lowers 2014 Copper Conc. Output Estimate to 405,845 Tonnes

SHANGHAI, Jun. 18 (SMM) – Chinalco Mining Corporation International lowered estimate for its copper concentrate output this year from 497,554 tonnes to about 405,845 tonnes, the company told Hong Kong Stock Exchange today.

The output by copper content was hence adjusted downward from 123,984 tonnes to about 100,000 tonnes.

Equipment calibration and the optimization at the commissioning stage for the Toromocho Project were more complicated than expected, the Company said.

Copper concentrate output from Chinalco’s Toromocho Project hit 74,000 tonnes by June 15, 2014, most of which have already been sold.
