SMM Brief on SHFE Aluminum Futures (2014-5-20)

On Monday night, SHFE 1407 aluminum contract climbed to RMB 13,220/mt after starting at RMB 13,125/mt, but then surrendered some gains to finish the night session at RMB 13,200/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 20 (SMM) – On Monday night, SHFE 1407 aluminum contract climbed to RMB 13,220/mt after starting at RMB 13,125/mt, but then surrendered some gains to finish the night session at RMB 13,200/mt. Trading volumes totaled 16,290 lots, and positions contracted 638 lots to 110,288 lots. On Tuesday, the most active contract crept up to RMB 13,210/mt before retreating to RMB 13,105/mt due to profit-taking, ending the day at RMB 13,125/mt. Trading volumes totaled 20,008 lots, and positions contracted 5,478 lots to 104,810 lots.
