SHANGHAI, Apr. 28 (SMM) – Burma remained the top supplier of China’s tin ore imports in March, claiming 99% of China’s 16,415-tonne imports during March.

Volume of tin ore imported by China jumped 465.6% on a monthly basis in March, and was 39.3% higher than the same month of 2013 as well. YTD imports through March grew by 17.3% to 38,283 tonnes.

Consolidation across China’s tin mining sector and depressed tin prices undermined selling interest at Chinese tin ore suppliers, buoying demand for imported ore.
