Tongling Nonferrous Plans to Expand Copper Foil Capacity by 15,000 tpy

SHANGHAI, Apr. 17 (SMM) – Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co. plans to increase copper foil capacity at its subsidiary Tongguan Copper Foil Co. by 15,000 tpy in 2014.

With total investment expected at 1.09 billion yuan ($175 million), the expansion project would include a 5,000-tpy lithium battery foil capacity and a 10,000-tpy special electronic foil capacity which would together create 126.44 million yuan annual profit, the company told Shenzhen Stock Exchange today.

Tongguan Copper Foil, established by Tongling Nonferrous in October 2010, has a capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of precision electronic copper foil every year. The company registered a net profit of 3.74 million yuan in 2013.
