Taiwan’s HMS 1/2 80:20 containerized scrap import prices advance further to $354 a ton

Taiwan’s HMS 1/2 80:20 containerized scrap import prices (CFR Taiwan Port) rose further by 1.4% week-on-week to $354 a ton in the week ended April 4th this year.

TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Taiwan’s HMS 1/2 80:20 containerized scrap import prices (CFR Taiwan Port) rose further by 1.4% week-on-week to $354 a ton in the week ended April 4th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index.

According to TSI, scrap index for containerized Taiwanese imports of HMS # 1&2 80:20 gained $5 a ton last week to $354 a ton, as mills moved to replenish low inventory levels.

Local scrap prices also advanced by $10 a ton as scrap suppliers sought to gain some parity with international levels, whilst rising rebar prices also helped to support higher scrap prices.
