ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) rose further by $6 a ton week-on-week to $380 a ton in the week ended April 4th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index.

According to TSI, scrap index for containerised Taiwanese imports of HMS # 1&2 80:20 gained by 1.6% week-on-week to $354 a ton, as mills moved to replenish low inventory levels.

Local scrap prices also rose by $10 a ton as scrap suppliers sought to gain some parity with international levels, whilst rising rebar prices also helped to support higher scrap prices.
