Spot Aluminum Price Movement in South China (2014-3-28)

As SHFE current-month aluminum prices rose sharply by over RMB 100/mt before midday, spot aluminum in south China traded higher between RMB 12,670-12,730/mt on Friday.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 28 (SMM) – As SHFE current-month aluminum prices rose sharply by over RMB 100/mt before midday, spot aluminum in south China traded higher between RMB 12,670-12,730/mt on Friday. Trading activity was fairly brisk due to stronger downstream buying interest. Spot aluminum prices later stopped trended higher after SHFE lead prices failed to rise further and quotations went as high as RMB 12,740/mt.
