ASEAN HRC Steel import prices drop further by $4 per ton

SINGAPORE (Scrap Register): ASEAN hot rolled cold (HRC) steel import prices (CFR ASEAN port) dropped further by $4 per ton week-on-week to $544 per ton in the week ended March 21st this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index.

According to TSI, trading activity returned to the ASEAN market, as buyers started to book material for July shipment.

Prices for Chinese-origin HRC weakened compared to the previous week, with SAE grades offered in a wide range of $538-550 a ton and SS400 material transacted close to the $525 a ton mark (CFR ASEAN port).

TSI’s daily ASEAN HRC index for SAE grade material declined $4 a ton last week to $544 ton.
