NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices dropped by 1.1% or $7 a short ton week-on-week to $626 a short ton in the week ended March 14th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index (TSI).

According to TSI, United States HR coil price rose by $2 a short ton last Thursday – perhaps a sign of the recent price trend reversing.

The market was talking up the possibility of a hike in list prices, but many also talked down the impact this would have on current spot price levels.
