SHANGHAI, Mar. 13 (SMM) – Fujian Zhonghe Co. aims to tap global demand for li-ion battery materials, boosted by expansions of the American electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors Inc., China Nonferrous Metals News reported today.
Zhonghe’s technology to produce those materials, called NCA, has been declared national patent and has been submitted to Japan’s Sanyo and Toshiba for certification, the industry newsletter cited unnamed company staff as saying.
Tesla is looking to develop a network of superchargers in China that would allow drivers to travel for free over long distances to spur adoption of electric cars, which is likely to be endorsed by Beijing as a solution to the country's pollution woes, according to Chinese media.
