Spot Aluminum Price Movement in East China (2013-11-14)

Spot aluminum prices were RMB 14,370-14,380/mt in Shanghai on Thursday, a discount of RMB 20-30/mt over SHFE 1311 aluminum contract.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 14 (SMM) – Spot aluminum prices were RMB 14,370-14,380/mt in Shanghai on Thursday, a discount of RMB 20-30/mt over SHFE 1311 aluminum contract. Prices were RMB 14,380-14,390/mt and Wuxi, and RMB 14,360-14,370/mt in Hangzhou. Cargo holders became anxious to liquidate inventories out of bearishness over future prices. However, downstream producers decided not to step in until SHFE 1312 aluminum contracts become the new current-month contract. Trading was subdued.
