Review:
Electrolytic manganese metal (EMM) prices in China dropped from RMB 12,800-12,900/mt early last week to RMB 12,600-12,700/mt, dragged down by flagging demand. However, the price decline was seen limited due to cost support and slight growth in supply.
Forecast:
Slackening demand and growing supply will weigh EMM prices down, but any decline will be contained by cost support. SMM thus expects EMM prices to fall slightly to RMB 12,500/mt this coming week.
