SHANGHAI, Jul. 25 (SMM) – China Customs data indicated that China exported 8,729 mt of lead ingot in the first half of this year, jumping over 900% from a year ago.
China’s lead ingot exports in June climbed 37.68% MoM to 1,604 mt, with these goods mainly shipped to Indonesia, India and Thailand. ILZSG reported lead shortages of 33,000 mt, 15,000 mt, and 26,000 mt, respectively, in these three countries through the first five months. Despite a proximity to the three countries, China’s export duty allowed no profit for exporting lead ingot through general trade. Thus, processing trade was preferred by most exporters.
In addition, 2,479 mt of lead plates were exported from China during June, up 47.38% MoM, while imports in H1 totaled 23,000 mt, up nearly 200% from a year earlier. June’s lead alloy exports were 59 mt, and H1 lead alloy exports were up 0.81% YoY to 869 mt.
