South China Aluminum: Trading Improves on Increased Downstream Restocking

SHFE 1310 aluminum contract prices rose on Friday as shorts closed positions before the upcoming weekend, with prices between RMB 14,310-14,345/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 19 (SMM) – SHFE 1310 aluminum contract prices rose on Friday as shorts closed positions before the upcoming weekend, with prices between RMB 14,310-14,345/mt. Spot aluminum in South China was traded at 14,630-14,640/mt. Despite growing in arrivals of shipments, traders still held offers firm due to low inventories. Most traders anticipate no significant uptick in aluminum prices in the coming week.
