Manganese ore prices continued to edge down and trading was stagnant.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 18 (SMM) –

Manganese Ore Market:
Manganese ore prices continued to edge down and trading was stagnant. Some traders rushed to sell against tight liquidity. Traders are unwilling to import on the belief that prices will fall further, SMM has learned. Operating rates at downstream producers remain low, putting downward pressure on manganese ore prices.

Transactions:
In southern ports, a small amount of Malaysian manganese ore was traded. In northern ports, consumption of mainstream manganese ore was sluggish. Trading of manganese ore from Malaysia and Morocco and high-Mn manganese ore from Zambia was modest.

Manganese Alloy Market:
In North China, most large silicomanganese alloy producers are running at full capacity, while SMEs continue to cut production. Operating rates in South China underperformed those in North China
