The Ministry of Land & Resources (MLR) released its implementation plan for safety inspections targeting unlicensed or illegal mines between mid-June and late September.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 9 (SMM) – The Ministry of Land & Resources (MLR) released its implementation plan for safety inspections targeting unlicensed or illegal mines between mid-June and late September as scheduled by the State Council. SMM has confirmed that openly operating, legal mines will not be affected by the inspections.

Lead mines operating in Inner Mongolia, Guangxi and Guangdong have all confirmed to SMM that the inspections are targeted at mines operating without licenses and will not impact operations at mines operating legally. Undocumented mines, as well as those that fail to pass muster, will be subject to punishment by local authorities, including rescission of mining permits.
