SMM Brief on SHFE Zinc Futures (2013-7-5)

SHFE 1310 zinc contract prices opened slightly lower at RMB 14,520/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 5 (SMM) – SHFE 1310 zinc contract prices opened slightly lower at RMB 14,520/mt. LME zinc prices weakened, and China’s investors also sell goods ahead of US non-farm employment data, pushing down SHFE 1310 zinc contract prices to RMB 14,485-14,500/mt, and finally closing at RMB 14,470/mt, down RMB 70/mt, or 0.48%. Trading volumes increased by 748 lots, to 46,480 lots, and total positions increased by 1,948 lots, to 156,588 lots.
