South China Aluminum: Tight Supply Helps Prices Resist Declines

Despite the decline in SHFE aluminum prices, falling aluminum stocks in south China kept mainstream traded prices in the region stagnant at RMB 14,660/mt on Friday.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 5 (SMM) – Despite the decline in SHFE aluminum prices, falling aluminum stocks in south China kept mainstream traded prices in the region stagnant at RMB 14,660/mt on Friday, level with yesterday and RMB 270/mt higher than in Shanghai. Downstream producers restocked in modest amounts for the weekend.
