China Develops Most Strict Measure Targeting Heavy Polluters

China’s State Council has outlined 10 measures to curb air pollution, which are regarded as the toughest environmental protection policy.

Toughest Environmental Protection Measures Rolled Out
China’s State Council has outlined 10 measures to curb air pollution, which are regarded as the toughest environmental protection policy, indicating the government’s emphasis on dealing with polluting cases. Nonferrous metals industry, as one of the heavy polluters, is thus facing increasing challenge for environmental protection.
 
Jiangsu Speeds up Elimination of Heavy Metal Related Capacities
Jiangsu province has accelerated its efforts in eliminating inefficient process, facilities and products related to heavy metals, requiring the affected enterprises to discharge wastes and set safety distance in compliance with requirements. The province also introduced higher requirements for environmental protection, restricting newly-built, expanding and upgrade projects in certain regions.
