South China Aluminum Price: Prices Down, Trading Muted

SHFE 1310 aluminum contract opened lower on Thursday and shed over 1% in the afternoon, causing markets to panic.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 20 (SMM) – SHFE 1310 aluminum contract opened lower on Thursday and shed over 1% in the afternoon, causing markets to panic. In response, traders in south China were anxious to liquidate inventories, but downstream consumption was sluggish, pulling mainstream traded prices down from RMB 14,830/mt to RMB 14,780/mt, with premium over Shanghai down to RMB 250/mt.
