The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) issued a tender in late May regarding its third batch of transmission lines for 2013.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 13 (SMM) – The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) issued a tender in late May regarding the third batch of transmission lines for 2013. These transmission lines involve 35-110 KV regular conductor ground wire, 500/330 KV regular conductor ground wire, special conductor and regular ground wire.

Bids are due June 24, 2013. The bid invitation involves 65,616 mt of aluminum wire and cable, including aluminum conductor steel reinforced, aluminum conductor aluminum clad steel reinforced, aluminum conductor steel reinforced with high conductivity and aluminum alloy-cored wire.

The SGCC invites tender for transmission lines for six times each year.

Enterprises participating in bidding say that the quantity of transmission lines to be bought by the SGCC increased compared with last year and the number of bidders also grew. This will intensify competition among bidders. Meanwhile, despite the expansion in bid invitation scale, accounts receivable from the SGCC can take up to more than three months, which will tighten cash flows at wire and cable producers.
