South China Aluminum Price: Premium Over Shanghai Expands on Supply Shortfall

SHANGHAI, Jun. 5 (SMM) – SHFE 1309 aluminum contract prices rose to challenge RMB 14,900/mt on Wednesday, sending mainstream traded prices in Guangdong up to RMB 15,130-15,150/mt as well, a premium of nearly RMB 300/mt over Shanghai. Local aluminum supply fell short of demand as downstream producers have begun rebuilding stocks for the upcoming three-day holiday.
