SHANGHAI, Apr. 19 (SMM) - In Shanghai, nickel prices fluctuated significantly on Tuesday. SHFE copper prices falling by daily limit immediately following opening triggered market fears, with Russian nickel prices as low as RMB 105,000/mt at a time, and with Jinchuan nickel prices around RMB 106,000/mt. Due to brisk transactions, traders then raised quotes by RMB 200/mt, and transactions remained active. Low-priced resources had been released after the Asian morning trading hours, and traders were mostly holding goods. Jinchuan nickel prices rose to RMB 106,500-107,000/mt, and Russian nickel prices advanced to RMB 105,500-106,000/mt, but demand decreased noticeably, keeping transactions muted.
